This will by my sixth year competing in the Billings…. it is because of this race that I have dedicated all of my fitness energy to cycling. I am part of the Wagon Wheel Express team and we have done fairly well the past few years, winning the Recreational Division, and placing top 5 in Under 39 Kayak.
My
buddy Bob proposed the race to me years ago and stressed I didn’t need a road bike at the time… I decided I did and it has literally changed my life. My training and all the races I compete in throughout the year are done solely in focus for the Billings. The first year I did it I was hooked, coming in the middle at 260th place…. last year’s race I finished 43rd. It is literally my favorite weekend of the year! Our runner Sean Kelley has placed in the top 25 the last 4 years he has been a part of our team, coming in 13th last year! I think I speak for our team when I say it is an awesome weekend and we always work on getting more friends and family to join every year. Last year we had Sean’s wife and dad join and they are hooked as well!
