Saturday, September 9, 2023:

  • Register and packet pickup from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at The Arcadian Shop, 91 Pittsfield Road (Rte. 7) Lenox, Ma  413-637-3010.
  • Ironperson meeting in the cafe area: 2:00P
  • Free Kid’s Race Registration: 12:00P to 3:00P (Scroll down for more information)

Sunday, September 10, 2023–RACE DAY!!   START TIME!!  9:30am 

  • RACE BEGINS:  9:30am at the Price Chopper parking lot in Great Barrington.
  • No Registration on Race Day
  • “Last Minute” packet pickup at the bike start: 8:30am to 9:00am  (we strongly recommend that you pick up your packets on Saturday)
  • Berkshire Bike and Board will be at the bike start for minor repairs/adjustments only
  • RACE START: 9:30am
  • The Bash and Awards at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac with a great band, food and awards
  • Kids Race at 2:30 pm at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac
  • Shuttles will be provided for Ironpersons from the Bash back to the bike start. Shuttles will begin at 2 pm. Location TBD.

Reporting Times and Places

  • The Josh will be using the Lions Gate parking lot for all participants and their guests. There is NO parking at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac (and NO dogs).

Important Road Closure Information

  • Route 183 will be closed from 8:30 am – 2 pm

  • Hawthorne Road will be closed from 9 am – 2 pm so you must park in the Lions Gate lot prior to 9 am and walk to your locations. The route will be well marked to both Rt 183 and the camp.

  • Paddlers: 8:30 am at the Stockbridge Bowl boat ramp (boats need to be brought to the boat ramp earlier in the morning-road closes at 8:30am)

  • Runners: 9 am at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac (park at Lions Gate and then walk through the marked path to the Camp).  Note: Hawthorne Rd closes at 9 am so you must park your car in the Lions Gate lot before 9 am)

  • Paddlers: Route 183 will be closed from Tanglewood to the boat ramp at 8:30am, Hawthorne Rd will close at 9am.  Bring your boat to the boat ramp early in the morning and then park at the Lions Gate parking lot and walk back to the Stockbridge Bowl boat ramp following the marked path.   Allow 30 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the boat ramp.

  • Runners:  Parking is at Lions Gate parking lot on Hawthorne Rd.  Hawthorne Rd will be closed at 9am so you must park early.  You can walk to the camp by going through the marked path in the field and woods.

  • Josh Billings Kids’ Race and guests:  Parking is at Lions Gate parking lot on Hawthorne Rd.  Hawthorne Rd will be closed at 9am-2pm.  At 2pm, the road will open only for people parking at the Lions Gate lot and going to the Josh Bash and the Kids Race.

  • Race start is at 2 pm at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac

Josh Billings Kids’ Race

There will be a Kid’s Race this year!  All Kids will receive a Josh medal!

  • Race start is at 2pm at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac.
  • You must register ahead of time (it’s FREE!) either from 12-3 at the Arcadian Shop on Saturday or from 12-1 on Sunday at Camp Mah-Kee-Nac (look for the Berkshire United Way tent).
  • Children must be 5 years old up to 12 years to enter the race.
  • Parents are not allowed to run with your child!!  They must be able to run be themselves.
